If it is not available the price shown on our site will not be updated. As a guide though, expect to pay $10 per day per item. Some suppliers cap the fee at $100 per item too. Yes. Please do not cancel your car booking dircetly with the rental company. Just sign in and you can cancel your car booking and RentalCover.com policy any time up to and including the commencement date. Cancellation terms for cars are outlined in our Booking Terms and RentalCover.com policies can be cancelled up to the time of pickup.

To change pickup or dropoff times by +60 minutes or change locations or car choice, create a new car booking and cancel the old one. If you are not changing dates, you do not need to cancel, modify or repurchase a RentalCover.com policy because RentalCover.com policies are valid for the full day of pickup and the full day of dropoff. If you are changing dates you should purchase a new RentalCover.com policy and cancel the old one. Refunds are issued automatically.
Note that RentalCover.com policies are valid for any car regardless of the site used to book the car and regardless of the rental company.

There are three options: (1) Our rental vehicle coverage partner, RentalCover.com covers rental vehicles for 50% less than the price paid for the rental company's excess reduction. Excess reduction from the rental companies costs more (at least double), provides less coverage (excludes windscreen damage, tyres, single vehicle accidents, driving at night, roof and underbody damage & more) and has higher claim fees (usually you still have to pay the rental company $300-$1000). With RentalCover.com, in the event of an accident you would pay the supplier and claim the full amount from your insurer. Your other options are: (2) Drive without any rental cover, in which case you potential liability is $3,000-$5,000 depending on the vehicle, and risk that the repair charges are grossly inflated so that you pay more than the true repair cost. (3) Take the supplier's excess reduction: see above.
The prices we show are either (a) the same as the supplier's website, or (b) cheaper than their website. This means we are able to offer a "best price guarantee" on any vehicle from a given supplier. We work closely with various travel agents and travel technology companies to sift through millions of vehicle alternatives, then we display the cheapest one to you from hundreds of alternatives. We also promote up to $100 off coupons. You can see those on the search results page. After you book you can access the codes and then attach the code to your booking by contacting the supplier. The coupons are issued by the suppliers and are not applicable for 100% of bookings, but most are insured!
Lastly, we offer alternative insurance from RentalCover.com, a site that provides insurance for vehicle renters. The price is usually 50% or less than the cost that you will pay for insurance at the rental desk! Just add it to your booking by clicking the "Include" button once you've chosen your car.
You pay the car rental company on collecting your vehicle. We do not collect payment or credit card details, instead we automatically submit your details to the car rental company when you make a booking using our easy 3 step process.
Prices we display are direct from our partner websites. We do not charge fees for this service, instead we receive a small booking commission from the suppliers. The full fee breakdown is shown on the booking page (step 3). There are no hidden fees, though the suppliers may charge credit card fees at the rental desk. One major fee is the "airport surcharge" or "premium location fee" which adds up to 25% (at major metro airports) to your total cost (note that it will be added to the excess reduction cost if you take that from the supplier rather than our insurance partner RentalCover.com . You can avoid these by picking up at a nearby location (you would be taken to the rental desk by the supplier via "free shuttle" or "meet or greet"). Note also that airport dropoffs don't incur surcharges, just pickups.
Yes you will get all the points that you would earn by booking directly with Thrifty, Europcar and Hertz. We show the earnable (is that a word?) points on step 2. Add your frequent flyer number into the Travel Profile after you complete your booking.
For the car rental booking: You do not need to change anything. At the rental desk the intended drivers will be required to sign the rental agreement.
For RentalCover.com policies: Additional drivers who are on the rental agreement with you are covered free of charge. Policies are issued under the name shown in your Account, i.e. that name must be on the rental agreement in order to be insured by RentalCover.com. That name can be changed and the policy will be updated; active RentalCover.com policies (i.e. policies that commence from today onwards) will be updated automatically. Policies that started yesterday or prior cannot be updated. There may be a small price if the age of the new RentalCover.com policy holder requires that a different policy be issued.
To add another driver to the policy: Additional drivers who are on the rental agreement with you are covered free of charge. However as described above, the policy holder listed in your account needs to be on the agreement. You can change the policy holder up to and including on the day of commencement.
