Darwin is a colourful city with a beautiful harbour and a chequered past. Hire a car so you can take advantage of all there is to see and do here in the capital city of the Northern Territory or, as it is known in Australia, the Top End. Really the only way to see the rest of what the Top End has to offer is to drive and you can rent a car in Darwin or at Darwin Airport. From there you can experience  the outback desert, the thermal springs of Katherine and the rainforests of the Kakadu National Park. If you are really eager you can take a trip all the way to the majestic Uluru/Ayers Rock, or you can rent a car in Alice Springs.
