Gold Coast is a place of beaches, bars and fun parks. Hire a car at the Gold Coast Airport or pick one up at the car rental outlets downtown or in nearby Brisbane and head off on sun and fun filled adventures. You'll find Surfer's Paradise, one of Australia’s most famous beaches, among 35 other beach choices, and theme parks like DreamWorld and Warner Brothers Movie World here. Though your days may be taken up with lounging about on the warm Gold Coast sand or out exploring the rainforest only 30 minutes drive away, at night the Gold Coast comes alive. The clubs and pubs are numerous, stage shows and street performances are many, and the shopping precincts are open till late.

For a break, however, a cheap hire car can take you off the beaten track to visit the Gold Coast Hinterland with bustling towns, wildlife reserves and Tamborine Mountain. As well as all this, the Gold Coast is a short drive from Brisbane and, in other direction, from beautiful and relaxed Byron Bay, Australia’s eastern most point and home to some fabulous, and more laid back, beaches and towns.
