The contract between Etihad Airways and Hertz Car Rental is set to last through 2014 and will fuse the reservation systems of the airline and car rental agencies in order to provide travel packages for customers. These packages are designed to eliminate some of the hassle and stress of patronising separate companies, instead allowing consumers a smoother, more fluid reservation experience.

With its new microsite in place, Hertz Car Rental opens the doors to Etihad Airways' customers to order their car hires and car rentals online upon completion of their bookings. Etihad staff also have access to the dedicated reservation system that allows them to offer Hertz discounts and promotions to customers who choose to reserve via telephone. Hertz Car Rental services are available via Etihad.com, any Etihad call centre, and Etihad Holidays.
This cross-promotion will expand the respective agencies' current loyalty programmes, making their joint benefits open to existing members who employ both companies during the reservation process.
For example, members of the Pearl Business Class membership programme with Etihad can take advantage of a 15% discount on the luxury fleet in the Hertz Prestige Collection. Diamond First Class members will be granted access to the Hertz President's Circle, a complimentary service that features regular vehicle upgrades.
Etihad customers can also look forward to 500 Guest Miles per Hertz car rental. Exclusive online discounts and services will be offered to consumers who book their Hertz rental through the Etihad.com website as well.
