Citing Iceland's volcanic eruption, labour strikes, and the continued global economic recession, Stuart Nassos, managing director of Holiday Autos UK, said that the unpredictable events of 2010 resulted in a “tumultuous year for the travel industry.”
Mr. Nassos expressed his desire to bring the leading car rental industry executives together for a roundtable in order to hear their views on how the industry was affected and the lessons that they can take away from it. Mr. Nassos noted that the roundtable was comprised of the countries which were most affected by inbound UK travels and whose livelihood was most dependant upon it. The aim of the meeting is to apply the lessons of 2010 immediately to how the industry will respond to 2011.
