FAQs

Will I get all my points?
Yes you will get all the points that you would earn if you used the websites of our rent a car partners Thrifty, Europcar, Hertz, Avis and Budget. Add your frequent flyer number and other reward program details into the Travel Profile that is created when you first book and we will automatically pass your numbers onto the car rental companies for any "active" and future bookings, otherwise present your number on pick up.

How do I add a baby seat?
Baby/child/booster seats are options on the third (and final) step of the booking process. Availability and costs are displayed. Many car hire companies do not carry rear facing infant/baby seats (for under 8kg babies). All others are forward facing for tots 8-18kg. Booster seats are sometimes unavailable so it may be necessary to choose another provider if you need one and cannot BYO.

Are the prices the same as Avis, Hertz etc etc?
Yes. When you use our booking form, the price that shows is the exact price that you will see on any of our rental car partner sites at that exact time. We don't add a cent (see our price guarantee).

When do I pay?
You pay the car rental company on collecting your vehicle. We do not collect payment or credit card details, instead we automatically submit your details to the car rental company when you make a booking using our easy 3 step process.

What about insurance/excess reduction?
Car rental insurance is confusing! If you wish to reduce your excess we encourage you to do that upon picking up the car. However we do provide an insurance guide to help you navigate the price breakdown of rental cars for each supplier.

How does the price guarantee work?
When you do a search we receive a live price list from the websites of our car rental partners (Thrifty, Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Budget). The prices we show are exactly the same. If we're wrong please refer to our full price guarantee to be eligible.

What are the taxes, surcharges, airport fees etc?
Prices we display are direct from our partner websites. Their fees include * Airport pick up fees of up to 20% extra per day. The names and rates for these differ by company and location. Sydney Airport is the most "taxed" airport (19-20% per day). It's an exorbitant fee, we recommend getting a cab as it only applies to airport pick ups not drop offs. * One way rental fees (on the East Coast these are rare though e.g. Melbourne to Sydney there is no one way fee). * Rego Fees. * "Admin" Fees (these aren't ours of course). * GST.

How do I add a GPS?
In the third step of the booking form you can add a GPS. Prices are taken straight from our car hire partner sites. Expect to pay $8-$10/day. It may be better to BYO.

Do I have to be over 21 or 25?
An underage surcharge of between 7%-10% per day applies for 21-25 year olds, depending on the rental company. Cars are not available to Under 21's. We would recommend that an older driver book and drive.
